The Detroit Tigers just beat the New York Yankees in the post season. While I may not be the biggest sports fan, I will always root for my home teams. The Tigers "D" logo is a classic and an excellent excuse to bust out my copic wide marker.
Neil deGrasse Tyson has become more and more visible and outspoken these days. He's one of my favorite astrophysicist and champions of science. I believe the most important thing I ever learned in school was the scientific method, it's a good way to approach all unknowns in life. It encourages us to explore and dream. Dr. Tyson has a rare talent for communicating astronomical ideas in science with relevance and aproachability. A perfectly capable successor to the late great Carl Sagan.

Graphic Design Ruined My Life

I love graphic design and owe a lot of my life to it, however sometimes I wish I could gaze upon the world without having to visually deconstruct it. After formally learning about graphic design it became near impossible to unsee what lies beneath all design. The closest thing I can compare it to is when I started skateboarding, I couldn't help seeing skate lines everywhere I looked. I'm sure this experience crosses many forms of art and creativity.

Wobble All Night

This spring Design Is Love hosted another of their Design Fund projects. The contest was to design a poster with an "Outer Space" theme. The cool part was the winning design would be screen printed using a choice of 2 inks and 1 paper color. I chose the black speckle tone paper with a metallic gold and a white ink. I may make this available on my society6 page for purchase but I really think it works best with the ink and paper combo.

I'm definitely going to pick up a print of the winning poster for myself as well.

The Letter B

After messing around with my wide lettering marker last night I couldn't resist throwing this together. I always gravitate towards the look of physical design processes like hand lettering or print making. The imperfections and texture help it feel tangible and human.

Game of Thrones: Episode 4
